The family holdings, long known as Domaine Boisson‑Vadot, are now produced and bottled collaboratively under the Pierre Boisson and Anne Boisson labels at the family cellars in Meursault. Boisson is one of the village’s exceptional small producers—relatively under-the-radar outside France, yet enjoying an almost cult following among Burgundy enthusiasts locally. The Boisson family has been cultivating vines in Meursault for over two centuries, and today’s wines rank among the finest in their long, distinguished history. While father Bernard remains a guiding presence, Pierre and Anne jointly steer the domaine, crafting three to four thousand cases annually.
Critic Reviews
Anne Boisson’s 2022 Meursault “Sous la Velle” is made from a nice mix of old vines and those in their prime, as half the vineyard was planted in 1947 and 1952, with the other half in ’87 and ’90. The wine is aged in twenty-five percent new oak and the 2022 Sous la Velle offers up a lovely bouquet of apple, tart orange, hazelnut, chalky soil tones, a touch of beeswax, geranium and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with lovely depth of fruit at the core, fine mineral drive and grip, a lovely spine of acidity and a long, impeccably balanced and complex finish. Fine juice. 2025-2050
