Dan Standish comes from superb wine making stock – he’s a sixth generation Barossan from South Australia who honed his craft through family tradition and work experience. Indeed, he established his winery in 1999, while working as a winemaker at Torbreck Vintners.
Standish is stringent about his wines, and is detailed down to the vine. He ferments and matures each batch individually. They’re then carefully inspected and selected in a process that can see as much as 80% of the original blend sold off.
The result is distinct South Australian wines that have a satin texture and heady perfume. His dark fruits are multi-layered with notes of cocoa, earthy richness and gentle spice.
