March Selection

Varietiey-Mencia

Mencia, predominantly associated with Bierzo in North West Spain, has gained prominence due to low-yielding vines on high hills with poor soils, resulting in intensified flavors that captivate wine enthusiasts worldwide.

The Bud Burst Club

2019 Puerto del Monte Mencia, Bierzo, Spain

Nestled in the heart of Villafranca del Bierzo, this Mencía, crafted from 45-year-old vines at 450-700 m altitude, radiates charm and elegance. Aromas of juicy cherries, blackcurrant, plums, and subtle spice lead to a succulent, enduring finish.

2020 La Linea Mencia, Adelaide Hills

La Linea originated from a collaborative Adelaide Hills project, pioneering a focus on Spanish varieties. In 2007, winemaker Peter Leske envisioned a pale, dry Tempranillo rosé, marking their inaugural vintage. Now, twelve years later, they earn acclaim rivalling high-quality Spanish counterparts.

The Old Vine Club

2021 Cesar Marquez ‘Valtuille’ Mencia, Bierzo, Spain

Bierzo stands as a triumph in Spanish wine’s recent history, elevated by pioneers like Raul Perez and Descendientes de. J. Palacios, who propelled the region to acclaim over a decade ago.

Cesar Marquez, part of the Perez family owning Castro Ventosa since 1752 and nephew to the renowned Raul Perez, underwent a substantial apprenticeship before embarking on his own winemaking journey.

What You Need to Know

How It Works

To make sure customers are kept updated about our findings, every month we send them a two-pack of new wines to try. Both wines in the pack will be made from the same variety of grape but will be from very different parts of the world, allowing customers to compare and contrast their special tastes. To make the learning experience even more comprehensive and exciting, the pack will include informative tasting notes that explore both the grape and the wine.

The Deal

As a company that is passionate about sourcing rare, delicious and affordable wines, we are always incredibly keen to share them with our customers as well as tell the story behind every bottle.

As an exclusive member of the Two of a Kind Wine Club, you are going to get to drink some awesome wines at a great price. Every month, you will get the same deal: same variety, two different wines.
