May Selection

Variety- Fiano

Legend tells us that this white grape has found a home in the hills of Campania, Southern Italy, for well over two thousand years. Today’s Fiano wines are now recognised as standing proudly in the front row of next-generation Italian whites.

The Bud Burst Club

2020 Unico Zelo River Sand Fiano, Riverland, South Australia

The Riverland region along the Murray River in South Australia is now seen as a hotbed of high-quality Fianos. Waikerie is where Brendan and Laura Carter (and their dog Truffles) are based.

2019 Feudi di Guagnano ‘Terra Mare’ Fiano, Puglia, Italy

Feudi di Guagnano was founded by five young entrepreneurs who share a simple but ambitious plan: to save the Negroamaro vineyards from complete abandonment by elderly farmers no longer able to cultivate the vines. Feudi di Guagnano is not only a business project but it also represents an act of love of those people towards their own history and land where vine grapes have been grown since the Greek colonisation (3000 b.c.)

The Old Vine Club

2020 Vignerons Schmölzer & Brown ‘Kambrisch’ Fiano, Heathcote, Victoria

This is the result of the wine (and life) partnership of viticulturist and winemaker Tessa Brown and architect Jeremy Schmölzer. It’s only seven years since they started the planting of their vineyard at Thorley.

They continue to work there, set in the higher altitude area of the Beechworth GI.

2019 Ciro Picariello Fiano di Avellino, Campania, Italy

Ciro Picariello’s tiny 7 hectare estate lies at the heart of Campania’s white grape region of Avellino among the Irpinian hills.

The fruit for their estate-bottled Fiano di Avellino comes from two areas within the appellation, Summonte (around Picariello’s house and winery), which is at 650 meters  above sea level and Montefredane, at around 500 meters above sea level.

What You Need to Know

How It Works

To make sure customers are kept updated about our findings, every month we send them a two-pack of new wines to try. Both wines in the pack will be made from the same variety of grape but will be from very different parts of the world, allowing customers to compare and contrast their special tastes. To make the learning experience even more comprehensive and exciting, the pack will include informative tasting notes that explore both the grape and the wine.

The Deal

As a company that is passionate about sourcing rare, delicious and affordable wines, we are always incredibly keen to share them with our customers as well as tell the story behind every bottle.

As an exclusive member of the Two of a Kind Wine Club, you are going to get to drink some awesome wines at a great price. Every month, you will get the same deal: same variety, two different wines.
