Albariño is Spain’s most famous white wine grape, a speciality of Galicia in the cool, Atlantic-washed north west of the country.Like most Mediterranean varieties it provides the perfect pairing with fresh seafood. The slight salinity notes in the variety can also work beautifully with richer style sauces.
The 2016 Nautilus Albariño is a limited edition, single vineyard wine. On the nose, the 2016 vintage shows fragrant fresh apricots, honeysuckle perfume, hints of melon and mandarin peel notes. The palate is flavoursome and fleshy with a refreshing zingy finish.
Founded in 1988 (the same year the D.O. Rias Baixas was officially granted its charter), Condes de Albarei is a cooperative of 362 grower/owners. It is located in the valley known as O Salnès, in the heart of D.O. Rias Baixas. A beautiful well rounded and balanced example of Albariño.
The Albamar 69 is a stunning example of Albarino. Only 3000 bottles produced from old granite soils. The 80-year-old vines are farmed with organic practices. An intensely flavoured and majestic expression of the Albariño grape.
Based in the O Salnés subregion of Rías Baixas, Sacaberia is a tiny producer with a focus on organic practices, producing only 400 dozen bottles of this 2017 Albariño.It spends around 10 months on lees and has a leesy edge with great minerality. It resembles a classic Albariño on the nose, yet the palate is bright and offers a great texture.
To make sure customers are kept updated about our findings, every month we send them a two-pack of new wines to try. Both wines in the pack will be made from the same variety of grape but will be from very different parts of the world, allowing customers to compare and contrast their special tastes. To make the learning experience even more comprehensive and exciting, the pack will include informative tasting notes that explore both the grape and the wine.
As a company that is passionate about sourcing rare, delicious and affordable wines, we are always incredibly keen to share them with our customers as well as tell the story behind every bottle.
As an exclusive member of the Two of a Kind Wine Club, you are going to get to drink some awesome wines at a great price. Every month, you will get the same deal: same variety, two different wines.
