Mythic is one word that can be used to describe Domaine Tempier, which is considered one of France’s great estates.
lt’s situated in the Bandol region on the southern coast of France, and the family behind the operation is responsible for putting the province on the wine map.
As far as legacies go, that’s not half-bad!
The Tempier family have shown the world just how great Mourvèdre-based wines can be. The farm has been in the family since 1834. Whether it is the cult following they have established through their refreshing rosé, (which was once praised by Robert Parker as the greatest rosé in the world), their Bandol Blanc, or the distinctive cuvées of Bandol rouge – the wines of Domaine Tempier represent a proud benchmark when talking about Provençal wines.
