I’m not a great fan of the word “detail” when it comes to the description of a wine, for no real reason. But I picked up this wine and thought: the level of detail here is quite incredible. So now I’m part of the problem. We have an exceptional wine on our hands here, a wine of craft and control, its twiggy spice, floral, and smoky-reductive notes woven expertly through the red cherry, cranberry, undergrowth and plum fruit flavours. The finish is as dry as it is exquisite. I’m just a little bit blown away.
