The Laval family has been cultivating vines in Champagne for four generations, although it was Georges Laval who began producing Champagne under the family name in 1971. His son Vincent joined the domaine in 1991 after completing his studies and took over responsibility for the cellar in 1996, continuing the family’s commitment to producing wines of exceptional purity and character.
The estate is tiny, with just 2.5 hectares of vineyards. Half a hectare of Pinot Meunier in Chambrecy, in the Vallée de l’Ardre, is sold to négociants, while the remaining two hectares are spread across seven parcels in the Premier Cru village of Cumières. The vines average more than 30 years of age, with the oldest exceeding 70 years, providing the foundation for some of Champagne’s most distinctive and sought-after grower wines.
