The name, meaning “The Survivors”, refers quite literally to the tiny amount of fruit that survived the devastating spring frosts of 2021.
Chardonnay was particularly badly affected, with yields reportedly falling to extraordinarily low levels. Rather than bottle his old-vine parcels separately, Ganevat brought together the surviving fruit from several historic vineyards, including his prized Chalasses Vieilles Vignes, to create this one-off cuvée.
The result is a beautifully precise and concentrated expression of Jura Chardonnay. Citrus, yellow apple and white flowers are joined by chalky minerality and a wonderfully savoury edge. The palate is energetic and finely etched, with piercing acidity, impressive depth and a long, saline finish.
