2022 Bondar Clarendon Shiraz

Bondar, established in 2013 by husband and wife duo Andre Bondar and Selina Kelly, is located in the renowned Rayner Vineyard within McLaren Vale. Here, they work with old vine Grenache and Shiraz, focusing on crafting wines that are vibrant, well-structured, mid-weight, and full of flavor with a savory touch. Emphasizing minimal chemical intervention, Andre employs techniques such as using whole bunches, extended skin contact, and early fruit picking to achieve a balanced and bright character in their wines.

Critic Reviews

All the blueberries, dried raspberry friand, spice, quite some perfume here too, along with black olive and thyme. It’s medium to full-bodied, somewhat earthy and ferrous, acidity feels bright but well settled, toasted hazelnut, iodine, with impeccable length. Wow, this is a wine of presence and intensity, though not at the expense of charm and drinkability. So good.
