This domaine was created when Louis XV (known as Louis the Beloved) was on the throne, and the French Revolution was a couple of decades in the future. That’s another way of saying Domaine Pichot celebrated its 250th-anniversary last year. It is found on the right bank of the Loire and lays claim to being the oldest domaine in the tuffeau-limestone Chenin Blanc. Coteau de la Biche itself has expanded to 8.5 hectares and enjoys a southeast exposure superbly suited for the creation of pale straw coloured dry wines, of which this Pichot Vouvray is already recognised as quite a stunning vintage.
