We love a wine producer that dares to be different and Timo Mayer does just that. His wines are compelling, highly limited, exquisitely crafted and defiantly fall outside the Australian norm.
Timo has been producing wines from his 2.5 hectare Bloody Hill Vineyard in the Yarra Valley, Victoria since 2002. From here, and a couple of other single vineyard sites, he produces hand-crafted wines which favour elegance and purity over showiness. His signature is the use of whole-bunches during fermentation. This increases complexity and gives silkier tannins and freshness.
His Pinot Noirs are a must-try, and are among some of Australia’s best. The wines are now highly sort after around the globe, and we’re always excited to put these tiny production wines on the shelves.
