Yann Menager is one of the hardest working wine producers in France. Not only is he the owner and winemaker for Roche Paradis, a small domaine based in Saint Joseph in the northern Rhône wine region, he is also manager to Yves Cuilleron. This is a role he’s held for 17 years, and through it, he has well and truly honed his craft.
He’s used his knowledge of the steep northern wine region to purchase some beautifully positioned vineyards over the last few years and has holdings across Saint-Joseph, Condrieu and Côte Rôtie.
Menager is the type of winemaker who favours quality over quantity. He makes his wines as simply as possible, and only makes five – 10 barrels of each.
If you manage to come across some of his creations they’re well worth picking up.
