2022 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Aligote

$94.00

Pierre-Yves Colin, the eldest son of Marc Colin, embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of winemaking. He initially served as the winemaker at his father’s domaine from 1994 to 2005. Subsequently, alongside his wife Caroline Morey, he established his own domaine, utilizing vineyards that had been passed down through generations within their respective families.

Over the years, Pierre-Yves has risen to prominence, earning the status of an iconic figure in the prestigious Cote de Beaune, and is now widely regarded as one of the most exceptional producers in Burgundy. His success can be attributed to his unwavering commitment to meticulous farming practices, an unparalleled attention to detail, the use of larger demi-muid barrels, and a patient approach to aging the wines. These factors culminate in each of his bottlings serving as a pure expression of its terroir and a masterclass in Chardonnay driven by minerality.

Notably, the next generation is now continuing the family legacy, with his sons Mathis and Clément joining the family domaine. Their involvement ensures that the wines maintain the high standards set by Pierre-Yves, pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in this renowned region. This domaine not only stands as one of the preeminent estates in Chassagne but is also esteemed as one of the world’s finest, embodying a legacy of excellence in winemaking
