The Adams wines are one of our favourite discoveries for 2024. The winery cultivates ten hectares of vineyards in the best locations of Ingelheim, in Germany’s Rheinhessen region. This size is ideal for implementing their biodynamic philosophy of gentle winemaking in harmony with nature.
The Ingelheim terroir is truly special, characterized by limestone weathering rock formed around 50 million years ago—something unique in Germany.
Their 2021 Horn Spätburgunder comes from a VDP Grosse Lage (Grand Cru) vineyard, a small, west-facing, high-elevation site. The wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with whole clusters and is aged in barrique for 18 months. It delivers layers of spicy, deep-fruited flavors that culminate in a distinctive, mineral-driven finish on bedrock limestone. Built to captivate and endure, this wine offers both intensity and longevity.
