This straight Cinsault produced by winemaker Guillaume Létang is bright, delicious and unapologetically unoaked, retaining its vibrant redcurrant and raspberry fruit. This is delicately offset by a tannic, herbaceous edge that suggests Pinot Noir, even though there is none in the blend. This wine has an edge to it that is reminiscent of north-west Spain with its mineral-flecked fruit. Selon Letang Cinsault is a wonderful wine that forces us to ask why we don’t see more Cinsault stand alone. Chilled, this wine is the epitome of summer.
