Is Domaine Tempier the greatest rosé in the world? Plenty of famous wine critics would find it difficult to argue against this notion.
Domaine Tempier can be considered one of France’s great estates. It is situated in France’s Bandol region and the family behind the operation is responsible for putting the province on the wine map, showing the world how great Mourvèdre-based wines can be. The farm has been in the Tempier family since 1834 and – whether it is the cult following they have established through their refreshing rosé (once praised by Robert Parker as the greatest rosé in the world), their Bandol Blanc or the distinctive cuvées of Bandol rouge – the wines of Domaine Tempier represent a proud benchmark when talking about Provençal wines.
Domaine Tempier rosé is a blend that predominantly comprises Mourvèdre, with smaller amounts of Grenache and Cinsault. It offers gorgeous aromas of tangerine and melon, and its palate offers wonderful balance and refreshment. A wine to truly savour at any time of the year.
