Both the South African and Western Australian connections are highlighted in this superb offering from tripe.Iscariot. Remi Guise is South African by birth (brought up in the Cape Wine Lands) and a brilliant winemaker by inclination. Thankfully for us, he and Fiona found a home in Margaret River. This small producer, using the benefits of both location and climate, is ending its first decade with an established reputation for using small parcels of land to create superb fruit, and then crafting this produce into characterful and superbly expressive wines.
Critic Reviews
It’s rich and textural, a feast! Shows with lemon-ginger tea, lemon barley sugar water, passionfruit, kiwi fruit and sea spray scents and flavours. Medium weight white wine, crunch and slurpy, slippery but with a briny, pumice stone minerally finish. I like it. A lot going on and done well in a white. Complex and compelling thing.
