Our first vintage working with the Chignard family was 2006 and they have not skipped a beat; if anything since Cedric has taken over from father Michel (2011) the quality has improved!
As always this is bright, focused, and energetic, the fruit-filled reflects its outstanding terroir with good concentration and a superb depth not usually found in the wines of Fleurie. In 2019, we are back out of the Sun of 2018 and the ripeness that follows – this is a very ‘Beaujolais’ vintage displaying crispness, tautness and freshness. It’s made from great grapes so is still somewhat lush and vivid, tasting generous and fluid with great vibrancy – the vines average 80 years old and ‘Les Moriers’ has been known as one of the legendary vineyards of the Beaujolais for a few hundred years and this is it’s best example.
